Bill, I went to school at Western Washington University and did most of my skiing at Mt. Baker :). I loved living in Bellingham, while going to school up there.

Robert, I guess 4-wheel drives in the ditch are common in all climates :). I always say, 4-wheel drive does nothing for your breaks!

Mike
Me too just came accross your blog thanks to Luke :-) Since discovering Unpluggedshop.com, its my first stop every day, very convenient, one favorite does it all :-)

I live in snow country, two hours and a half north of Québec city, where -30 celcius is not a cold snap, its the norm.. But here too in Canada, the first vehicules in the snow ditch are always the 4 FWD, hummm go figure (idiots!) I guess it give them a false sense of invincibility eh! Dont see many camaro this time of the year he he he
My shop is unheated but very well insulated, it does make a tremendous difference. One of these days I will get around to hook up the wood stove but...

Have a merry Christmas Ho Ho Ho

Mike, just found your site from www.unpluggedshop.com. I live in Bellingham, but am a Seattle native. I know exactly where you are coming from concerning snow driving, being a old ski dog myself. I managed to get my shop up to 50 with my kerosene heater and like you considered insulating the ceiling this past summer, but... Come spring I will get it done. At least hand planing keeps you warm! Oh, nice snag on the side rabbet plane.
